What is a Bike Bus?
A “Bike Bus” is more like a parade or a rolling party than a bus. Kids and parents ride their bikes to school together along a pre-planned route, picking up families along the way. With a little music and a lot of smiles, kids relish the freedom and fun of a weekly ride together. It’s simply the best way to start the school day.
Parent volunteers act as marshals to keep the group together and allow the Bike Bus to move safely and smoothly through the neighbourhood.

How do I participate?
Kids and parents can both ride in the Bike Bus (and are encouraged to do so)! If your child can cycle independently at about 10 km/h, they can participate on their own bike. If kids are riding on the back of an adult’s bike that’s great, too.
If you and a group of families are joining up with our bike bus from a different area of the city and wish to add your own connecting bike bus route to our existing one, please reach out at southparkvictoria@bikebus.ca to add this info to our map.

South Park Bike Bus is unaffiliated with South Park School. It is run off school property and outside of school hours by parents volunteers. While we have established a wonderfully positive, supportive connection with the school community through the PAC, we are not an official school entity.
